Bullets fly in Brooklyn as teenager, senior woman wounded in shooting near grocery store

Police continue to investigate a Brooklyn shooting on Saturday afternoon near a grocery store that left a teenager and a senior woman seriously wounded.

According to authorities, the gunshots rang out at about 2:04 p.m. on Jan. 6 near 1925 Nostrand Ave., the Lucky 7 Deli & Grill, in Little Haiti.

Officers from the 67th Precinct, while responding to the shooting, located a 17-year-old boy who was struck three times in the lower back, and a 71-year-old woman was hit in the right leg.

Both victims were rushed to Kings County Hospital where they are expected to survive.

Detectives are investigating whether the senior was caught in the crossfire.

Investigators spent several hours at the scene canvassing for video and other evidence as snow fell around the area.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
