The upcoming week’s schedule of Community Board 1 committee meetings is below. Unless otherwise noted, all committee meetings are held at the board office located at 49 Chambers St., Room 709.
ON THURS. Jan. 5 The Seaport/Civic Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. to decide on the liquor license application for Babaini, Inc. The committee will see a presentation by Alan Sonfist for the proposed design for a park and fountain at Collect Pond Park.
ON MON. Jan. 9 Internal Workings of the Community Board Task Force is meeting at 6 p.m. to continue the discussion of the proposed by-law resolution on hiring, evaluation and termination of staff and to discuss street fairs.
ON THURS. Jan. 12. The Executive Committee is meeting at 5:30 p.m. to discuss and decide on whether to make a request to Friends of Lower Manhattan to support C,B. 1 operations and projects and to decide on the proposed salary adjustment for District Manager.
The Financial District Committee will meet at 6 p.m. to come to a resolution on a street fair proposed for April 28 for Maiden Lane between South Street and Water Street by the Downtown Independent Democrats and a street fair in the same location proposed for Sept. 29 by the Downtown Visiting Neighbors. The committee will decide on the liquor license application for Stone Tomato, Inc. and on a restaurant wine license for Panni at 115 Broadway. There will be a proposal presentation on the construction schedule for the canopy and elevator at the Bowling Green 4/5 Station.
The Landmarks Committee will also meet at 6 p.m., but in room 501 to come to a resolution on the application for 50-52 Laight Street to construct a new 8-story building and to come to a resolution on the 52 White Street application for a façade restoration. The remainder of the agenda is to be determined.
