Police respond to scene of fatal crash on Kings Highway in East Flatbush Monday morning.

One man was killed and another was critically injured on Monday when the latter lost control of a car he was driving and rammed into a light pole, police said.

The 25-year-old driver and his 30-year-old front seat passenger were traveling in a 2009 Honda Fit along Kings Highway near Tilden Avenue in East Flatbush just before 3:30 a.m., police said.

The driver lost control, veered off the road toward the center median and hit a light pole, police said. The Honda appeared to be wrecked beyond recognition.

Both men were found still inside the car and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where the passenger later died, according to police. The driver’s condition was upgraded to stable from critical.

The identity of the passenger who died was being withheld by police until his family could be notified.
