The Cherry Lane, an incubator for playwrights and actors throughout its long history, will reopen with a gala event on April 3 at which honorees will include playwright Edward Albee; John F. Breglio, the theater and entertainment attorney; playwright David Henry Hwang; and City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn. The gala host will be actress Judith Ivey. The program will include special performances and appearances by F. Murray Abraham, Amiri Baraka, Robby Benson, Billy Crudup, Karla DeVito, Dule Hill and others.
