A Greenmarket planned for City Hall at Broadway between Chambers and Warren Sts. got a nod of approval from Community Board 1’s Seaport and Civic Center Committee at a Tuesday night meeting.
If the Greenmarket gets a go-ahead from city agencies, which still need to approve it, Greenmarket vendors at the PATH station adjacent to the W.T.C. site would have the option of moving to the new location. Board members were satisfied that the small farmers’ early morning set-up, from 6-8 a.m., would be rudimentary enough not to wake nearby residents.
If approved according to schedule, the Greenmarket would open in Spring 2006.
