Michael Roth, aka “Sloth,” a former fixture on the East Village’s streets when he was a homeless drug addict, was cleared of charges several years ago in the death of a young female drug addict who was his friend who was strangled in the hallway of a tenement near Tompkins Square Park. After a long absence, he has been spotted back in the neighborhood the last few weeks.
