Defending a way of life

Protestors were outside of Federal Hall last Tuesday in opposition to Attorney General John Ashcroft’s appearance. Ashcroft, right, said the Patriot Act, which expanded his powers, needs to be strengthened in order to fight terrorism, but demonstrators say the measure is eroding the Constitution and has led to the denial of people’s civil rights.
