Larry Moss held his first fundraiser for his reelection campaign on Tues. June 15 at Elmo Restaurant and Lounge on Seventh Ave. in Chelsea. The event was co-sponsored by Marriage Equality NY and attended by more than 100 people.
Connie Ress, executive director of Marriage Equality, spoke regarding Moss’s work on the marriage issue, including winning passage of a resolution in September 2003 committing the New York Democratic Party to support equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Councilmember Bill Perkins of Harlem spoke regarding Moss’s work in winning passage of a resolution opposing the Iraq War at the state Democratic Convention in September 2002, prior to the congressional vote.
Moss spoke of his confidence that marriage equality will be won in New York, and eventually throughout the United States.
