Downtown’s second Saturn viewing

A group of people gathered at the Battery Park City esplanade on Fri., June 3, when B.P.C. resident, physician and amateur astronomer Sheldon Palgon examined Saturn through his powerful telescope.

Folks who didn’t get to attend the first viewing will have a second chance.

Under the auspices of TimeBank, a program of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Palgon will return with his Celestron scope to the esplanade at South Cove and Third Place (in the northern part of South Cove) on Friday, July 8, at 8:30 p.m.

Registration is required. To register, call (212) 609-7811 or email timebank@vnsny.org. The event may be postponed due to inclement weather, in which case a rain check date will be provided at the time of registration.
