FDNY rescues three who were trapped in Brooklyn fire

Firefighters rescued three people who were trapped in a heavy clutter condition during a Brooklyn fire.

FDNY units responded to a fire at 654 East 79th St. in Canarsie just after 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 5. Upon their arrival firefighters found fire blowing out the front door on the first floor.

FDNY personnel used two hose lines to knock down the main body of fire and during the overhaul, members pulled down the ceiling of the second floor. The fire victims are listed in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital and Kings County Hospital.

The fire was placed under control at 12:07 p.m. The FDNY Fire Marshal’s Office will determine the cause of the fire.
