Hillary Clinton rides subway in the Bronx after stop outside Yankee Stadium

Hillary Clinton joined straphangers in the Bronx Thursday morning for a brief ride on the No. 4 train.

The Democratic presidential contender first spoke outside of Yankee Stadium before using a MetroCard (not a token), to gain entry to the No. 4 train platform (though it took her multiple swipes to get in). She rode the train from 161st Street-Yankee Stadium to the 170th Street station.

Clinton was joined Thursday morning by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., where she told reporters that she’s “so proud to have represented this state.”

“New York values, the people of New York, there is no place like it in the world, and I’m going to take those experiences, take those values to the White House,” she said.

She also fielded a question about Bernie Sanders’ recent interview with the New York Daily News, during which he said you “get a token” to access the subway.

“I think it was my first term [as senator] when we changed from tokens to MetroCards,” Clinton remarked.
