Internet Week, kicking off Monday, showcases many facets of the city tech scene.
There are the Webby Awards, startup exhibitions, panels and more.
“Internet Week offers an opportunity to celebrate the digital present and preview our tech-infused future,” Allison Arden, the managing director of Internet Week, said in a statement.
The New York tech scene has made enormous strides in recent years and now offers employment to some 300,000 workers.
Most events are open to the public. Monday night’s Webby Awards, honoring the best in digital media and startups, is an exception. Comedian Hannibal Burress is the host and winners include Pat Quinn, who started last year’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
