Evgeny Kissin’s 2014 performance of rarely heard piano works by lesser-known Jewish composers and recited Yiddish poetry at the Kennedy Center in Washington was greeted as a revelation by audiences and critics alike. Kissin performs Bloch’s “Piano Sonata,” Veprik’s “Piano Sonata No. 2, Op. 5,” and Krein’s “Suite dansée,” and reads poetry by Yitzhak Leybush Peretz. Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, 881 Seventh Ave. at 57th St. Dec. 16, 8 p.m. Tickets are $32.50-$250 at carnegiehall.org.
