Madonna’s texting has gotten her banned from a movie theater chain.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain, which has a theater in Yonkers and one set to open in Brooklyn in 2015, has barred Madonna from its theaters after the pop star was caught texting during “12 Years a Slave” at the New York Film Festival.
“Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies @drafthouse,” tweeted Alamo founder and CEO Tim League, along with a link to a story about the incident.
Madonna reportedly was texting throughout the whole film, and when a fellow audience member asked her to stop, Madonna allegedly said, “It’s for business, enslaver!” according to published reports.
Asked if League was earnest about the ban, he told Entertainment Weekly he certainly is.
“Yeah, I’m serious,” he told the magazine. “But I don’t think it really affects her life that much.”
