Police are searching for the brute who assaulted a man during an argument at a 6 train station on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Tuesday.
According to law enforcement sources, on Aug. 20 at approximately 3:28 a.m. the assailant walked up to a 52-year-old man on the northbound train platform at the 96th Street station, and engaged in a verbal dispute with the straphanger.
Police could not confirm what the men were arguing about, but the fight quickly turned violent when the perp struck the victim with an unknown object — leaving him with a cut to the right side of his neck.
The perp then fled the train station to parts unknown before officers from the 19th Precinct and Transit District 4 arrived in response to a 911 call about the incident.
The victim went to an area hospital in stable condition.
So far, no arrests have been made but police on Tuesday released surveillance video of the suspect at large.
He is described as having a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a green shirt and red sweatpants.
No weapons were found at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
