Cops are searching for answers after a man was fatally gunned down behind a Harlem police precinct on Sunday.
According to police sources, the man was found on the sidewalk behind the 28th Precinct‘s headquarters, located at 2271 Frederick Douglass Blvd., at around 11:43 p.m. on May 18.
Police said the victim, who remains unidentified as of Monday morning, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, where he could not be saved and was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to uncover who the man is and why he was gunned down. A lone shell casing was recovered at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
