District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, left, kicked off his reelection campaign at the Ear Inn bar on Spring St. on Monday night. In return for holding the event at the bar, Morgenthau, 84, Manhattan D.A. for the last 30 years, agreed to grant a symbolic pardon to Thomas Cloake, a former owner of the bar. Cloake, a Tammany Hall operative, was found guilty of election fraud back when there were voting machines in the bar on Election Day and voters would get a mug of beer before each vote — meaning several mugs of beer at least per voter.
