Target department store will hold an outdoor sale of air-conditioning units in the Hudson River Park, at Pier 54 at W. 13th St. on Wed., July 14.
In the one-day event, the superstore plans to sell 5,000 units from a 10-ft.-x –10-ft. tent on the pier. The units are selling in the price range of $75 to $85 with a free handcart for buyers to wheel away their purchase.
On the same day on Pier 54, the Hudson River Park Trust is showing the Antarctica-set thriller movie “The Thing” as part of the Trust’s River Flicks series. The Trust is showing horror-themed movies at Pier 54 every Wednesday at dusk (8 p.m.-8:30 p.m.) during the summer. Fridays, the Trust is showing children’s and family-oriented films at Pier 25 at N. Moore St. in Tribeca. On Wed., July 21, the film at Pier 54 will be “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman,” and the movie on Fri., July 16, at Pier 25 will be “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” There will be free popcorn and beverages for sale.
