A beloved New York tradition is going virtual for the holiday season.

NBC 4 New York/WNBC is inviting those living in the Tri-State area to take part in their annual holiday sing-along. Those who participate have a chance appear virtually alongside NBC 4 New York news anchors and reporters.

“Our holiday sing-along has been a New York tradition for four decades. Our viewers and employees look forward to it every year.  While we are unable to physically gather under the Rockefeller Center tree this year, we are excited to do it virtually – and cannot wait for everyone to join us,” said Eric Lerner, NBC 4 New York President and General Manager.

Viewers can log onto nbcnewyork.com/sing where they can access a :25 second, karaoke-styled clip of “Frosty the Snowman.”  After recording their performance, singers can follow the links on the webpage to upload their video.

Submissions will be accepted through Nov. 30.  Several entries will be included in the final virtual performance, which will air on NBC 4 New York’s broadcast and digital platforms in December. News anchors and reporters from Telemundo 47 / WNJU are also anticipated to participate in this year’s virtual sing-along.
