Police released photos and video footage of three suspects wanted for repeatedly stabbing a man in the back on a moving subway train in Midtown on Sunday.
The NYPD said the victim, a 34-year-old man, was aboard a Queens-bound E train approaching the Lexington Avenue-53rd Street station at approximately 4:45 a.m. on April 7 when three unknown men approached him and instigated a verbal dispute.
According to police sources, one suspect told the victim, “… I was going to kill you.” Then, as a group, the suspects went on the attack, punching and kicking the victim.
Police said the pack of perps then ended their brutal assault when one of them stabbed the victim from behind twice with a knife, fleeing the scene before police arrived.
EMS brought the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
Police describe all the suspects as male. One is described as having a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and black sneakers, police said.
No weapons were recovered at the scene, law enforcement sources said. No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
