Subway stabbing An argument between two intoxicated men in the Broad St. (J,M,Z) subway station around 2 a.m. Fri. Oct. 20 ended when one of them pulled a knife, stabbed his adversary in the torso and fled, police said. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Police have made no arrest.
Etching arrest Xavier Veal, 19, was arrested at 8 p.m. Fri. Oct. 20 on a southbound E train at Canal St. and charged with criminal mischief for etching 11 windows in five of the cars with acid, police said.
