Rapper rapped

Nasir Jones, a rap artist known as Nas, walked into the Sixth Police Precinct with his lawyer on Tues. Dec. 17 and surrendered in connection with an assault on a patron of the Meat Market nightclub Cielo at 18 Little W. 12th St. during the early hours of Dec. 10, according to police.

Jones, 30, was charged with smacking a bottle over the head of a patron who walked into the VIP area of the club. No argument preceded the incident, according to reports, and the victim sustained minor injury. Jones was freed on $7,500 bail and was ordered to appear again in court on Jan. 20.

Jones, who has a long-running feud with a rival rapper, Jay-Z, was arrested in 1995 for illegal possession of a handgun.

Counterfeits bagged

The Mayor’s Office of Midtown Enforcement raided a Flatiron District building and seized more than $1 million of counterfeit Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Coach, Chanel and Fendi bags along with fake Sean John and RocaWear clothes at 6 a.m. Thurs. Dec. 18, according to the Mayor’s Office.

The building, at 1147 Broadway near W. 27th St., had been used as a warehouse, shipping center and shopping mall for counterfeit goods, the Mayor’s Office said. Several Department of Buildings and Fire Department code violations were also issued and the building was ordered vacated.

Watch the fakes

A search warrant raid on a building at Crosby and Howard Sts. in Soho on Friday afternoon Dec. 19 ended with one arrest for trademark counterfeiting and confiscation of 50,000 watches with counterfeit brands, police said. Phan Bu, 44, of 151 Vanwickle St., Jersey City, was charged with trademark counterfeiting.

‘I have a gub’

Police are looking for a bank robber who held up four banks, including one in the Village over the past three weeks, but fled without taking any money. In each case, the robber passed a note to the tellers. The most recent attempt was on Tues. Dec. 16 at a JP Morgan Chase branch at 204 W. Fourth St. near Charles St. On Dec. 9, the robber fled after a vain attempt at a Fleet branch at 157 Lexington Ave. at 30th St.

Petit larceny

Police arrested Jeffrey Steel, 52, at 5:30 p.m. Mon. Dec. 16 for petit larceny at a commercial location at 692 Broadway between E. Third and E. Fourth Sts. The suspect was also suspended from his job as a school safety guard, police said.
