Teller walks away
A man walked up to the fourth window of the Chase branch at 32 University Place shortly before noon Mon., April 27, and passed the teller a note that said, “I got a gun give me all the money. No ink money or I’ll use this gun,” police said. When the teller, a 58-year-old woman, walked away, the robber, described as a 6-foot-1-inch-tall black man, wearing a stocking cap, black jeans and a multicolored shirt, fled.
Village jawbreakers
An Upper East Side man, 28, told police that he was standing in front of 107 Christopher St. at 2 a.m. Sun., April 26, when a group of teenagers jumped him, punched his face and broke his jaw. The victim said he couldn’t remember how it all started and could not recognize any of his attackers.
Green jawbreakers
A patron of Greenhouse, the bar at 150 Varick St. between Vandam and Spring Sts., told police that two men punched him in the face during an argument in the bar at 4 a.m. Wed., April 8. The victim, 32, went to the hospital, where he was treated for a broken jaw. His assailants were described as white men in their 20s, about 6 feet tall, wearing jeans, one wearing a blue T-shirt and the other wearing a white T-shirt with a gray, hooded sweat shirt.
Slapping suspect
A woman, 36, told police she was standing on Carmine St. near Bleecker St. at 8:45 p.m. Mon., April 27, when a man described as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, in his mid-20s, with short brown hair cut in bangs, passed by and slapped her on the buttocks.
Slashed, she sprays
A woman talking on her cell phone on the northeast corner of Sullivan and Prince Sts. at 8:15 p.m. Tues., April 7, was approached from behind by a man who tried to take her shoulder bag, and cut her right arm several times with an undetermined weapon, police said. The victim, 38, took a pepper-spay can from her coat pocket and sprayed the suspect, described only as a black or Hispanic man, in the face. The mugger grabbed her cell phone and fled, police said.
Kept bag, lost phone
A woman was walking on the northeast corner of King St. at Sixth Ave. and talking on her cell phone at 10:15 a.m. Wed., April 22, when a man came from behind, hit her in the back and covered her mouth with his hand, police said. The victim, 26, struggled and prevented the suspect from taking her handbag from her shoulder, police said. The suspect, described only as a black male, then grabbed her cell phone and fled west on King St., police said.
‘Yo, go to the safe’
A man wearing a black ski mask walked into a Jamba Juice store at 25 W. Houston St. between Mercer and Greene Sts. at 7:15 p.m. after closing time on Wed., April 8, waving a black handgun at the four employees, police said. He grabbed money from the register, said, “Yo, go to safe,” and forced one of the employees to open a floor safe. The suspect, described as an Asian man, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, fled with a total of $2,900, police said.
Lowered the boom
A Hoboken man, a patron of Boom, the bar at 152 Spring St., got into an argument with a woman, who hit him in the face with a glass at about 10:30 p.m. Wed., April 8, police said. The victim, 33, was treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians, and the suspect, Denise Cavassa, 46, was charged with second-degree assault.
Auto break-in and theft
A man who parked his car on the northeast corner of Hudson and Vandam Sts. at 2:30 p.m. Sat., April 25, returned a few hours later to find the driver’s-side window smashed and that his laptop, four computer flash drives and his passport had been stolen.
Girl gang assault
Police arrested three women for attacking and slashing a woman victim on Christopher and Bedford Sts. shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sun., April 26. Jessica Gating, 19; Abigail Lino, 20; and Patricia Veal, 21, were charged with gang assault, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. Police said Lino pulled a knife during the incident and slashed the victim’s arm, according to the charges.
