Perry St. rape
Ivan Ramos, 22, pleaded not guilty at his Wed., May 16, arraignment on charges of raping a woman in a basement stairwell at 129 Perry St. a month ago. He is being held lieu of $500,000 bail pending a July 11 court appearance. Ramos, who has several prior arrests, is charged with pulling the victim down the stairwell around 6:15 a.m. on Sun., April 15, where he raped and sodomized her. He had told the victim he was a member of the neighborhood watch and would help her find articles that she had lost, according to District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. Ramos, who also stole a debit card from the victim, was arrested as he was leaving the site. He tried to flee and resisted being handcuffed when apprehended, police said. According to the D.A.’s office, the rape was captured on surveillance camera.

Love ends in blood
Police responded to a call in front of 33 Gold St. around 3:30 a.m. Fri., May 11, where they found a woman with bloodstained clothes sobbing over a man who had been stabbed in the chest. The woman, Yekatrina Pupepa, 22, was charged with attempted murder of her boyfriend, Alec Katsnelson, 22, during an argument in the Gold St. apartment where they had been living since November. Katsnelson was taken to Bellevue in stable condition. Pupepa, an immigrant from Latvia, first told police the victim grabbed a knife from her hand and stabbed himself by accident. After surgery, the victim told police that Pupepa came at him with two knives and stabbed him with one of them. She then helped him down to the street where he collapsed. The couple fought frequently, and at one point Katsnelson was arrested and spent a weekend in jail. In addition to attempted murder, Pupepa was charged with assault and criminal weapon possession.

Body in tunnel
The body of an unidentified apparently homeless man was found in the southbound subway tunnel just north of the Sixth Ave. I.N.D. subway station at 14th St., according to a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson. The victim was not struck by either F or M trains that run through the tunnel. M train service was temporarily suspected between Continental Ave. in Queens and Essex St. in Manhattan while F service was rerouted over the D line.

Bicycles abandoned
Responding to complaints about bicycles abandoned on sidewalk racks in Greenwich Village, the Sixth Precinct is preparing to remove the most recently reported bikes, according to Deputy Inspector Brandon Del Pozo, precinct commanding officer. Villagers may report abandoned bikes online to  HYPERLINK “mailto:james.alberici@nypd.org” james.alberici@nypd.org, the precinct community affairs officer, or to WNYC, which is mapping abandoned bicycles, at https://transportationnation.org/2012/04/27help-us-map-all-the-abandoned-bikes .

Bank robbery bust
Police arrested Jason Yorio, 30, as he fled from a Chase bank branch on Delancey and Ludlow Sts. at 11:45 a.m. Tues., May 15, after passing a teller a note demanding money. Yorio, suspected in three other bank robberies, failed to get anything from the Tuesday attempt.

Still barred from Baldwin
Genevieve Sabourin, the Canadian actress arrested April 8 for stalking outside Alex Baldwin’s E. 10th St. residence, appeared in court again Mon., April 14, and signed the court order forbidding her to contact Baldwin, extending it until her next court date on June 26. Sabourin, 40, who had previously said she had a physical relationship with Baldwin, told reporters Monday that she hoped “to solve this misunderstanding.” She also declared that she loved New York and that her heart was in harmony with the city, according to daily newspaper reports.

Skateboard smack
A man, 33, told police he was walking on the southeast corner of Broadway and Houston St. around 12:05 a.m. Sun., May 13, when a stranger hit him in on right hand and in the face with a skateboard and sped away.

Quick Stop kicker
A man walked into the Quick Stop, 251 Sixth Ave. at the intersection of W. Houston and Bedford Sts., at 1:30 a.m. Thurs., May 10, picked up several items, said he had no money to pay for them and began arguing with an employee. The suspect turned violent, kicked and smashed the glass front door and flung merchandise from the displays all over the store, police said.

Car thefts and burglary
Victor Collazo, 26, was charged with breaking into a car parked at the corner of Cherry and Pike Sts. around 5:30 a.m. May 2 and stealing two motorcycle helmets. Also charged with resisting arrest, Collazo admitted to police that he hit three other parked cars in the area, including a van on Monroe St.

Witnesses spotted a suspect trying to break into parked cars in the West Village on Friday night May 11 and called police, who arrested Juan Carlos Saavedra at 10:30 p.m. after he entered a black Lincoln Suburban parked in front of 80 Horatio St. The suspect was found in possession of a BlackBerry and an Apple laptop stolen from other cars, police said.

A motorist parked his car in front of 50 Howard St. at 11 p.m. Sat., May 2, and returned around 2 a.m. to find the rear passenger-side window smashed and that his backpack — containing $1,670 and 200 euros in cash, plus an orthodontic appliance and a cell phone charger — was gone.

A woman from Montreal parked her rented car near the northwest corner of Canal and Church Sts. around 7 a.m. Sun., May 6, and returned at 4 p.m. to find it had been stolen along with her cell phone, Canadian passport and $60 in U.S. currency.

Fakes and forgeries
Police stopped a 2004 BMW at the intersection of Jane St. and Eighth Ave. around 10 p.m. Thurs., May 10, and charged the driver, Ryan Chacon, 32, with possession of a forged instrument for driving with fake license plates and a forged insurance card. Police said Chacon told them he printed the plates with a computer.

Police arrested Lyondell Worthman at 7:43 p.m. Fri., May 11, for trying to use a fake debit card in a shop near the corner of Sixth Ave and W. 14th St. Worthman was also in possession of two more fake debit cards, and a New York State Benefit Card and a student MetroCard that were not his.

A man and a woman were charged with trying to use stolen credit cards in a store at 33 Seventh Ave. around 2 p.m. Sat., May 12. Mark Oricole, 43, and Rafaela Soto, 19, were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

Prince perv
Police arrested Mauro Villalba, 28, around 6 p.m. Fri., May 4, and charged him with unlawful surveillance for using a cell phone to photograph under a woman’s skirt as she was walking up the stairs of the Prince St. subway station.

Fights off L.E.S. attacker
A 17-year-old girl put the boots to a man who attacked her on Delancey and Forsyth Sts. around 4 p.m. Wed., May 9, according to a Daily News item. The suspect pulled the victim behind a building, pushed her against a wall and tore off her jacket, but she kicked him in the crotch and fled. Police blocked off 174 Forsyth St., where hearing-impaired people live, and interviewed residents.

Cell-snatch catch
Police arrested William Rivera, 27, around 3:30 a.m. Sun., May 13, at Seventh Ave. South and Bleecker St. after a victim told them Rivera stole a cell phone from his pants pocket. Rivera was also charged with resisting arrest for struggling against being handcuffed.

Fare-jump meth suspect
A man arrested for jumping the turnstile at the W. Fourth St. station on Sixth Ave. at 9:40 a.m. Sat., May 12, told police, “I have a Tina [slang for methamphetamine] pipe in my shirt.” Police found the pipe with meth residue and charged Antonio Harris, 19, with possession of a controlled substance.
