Pre-school fair

The New York City Department of Education will be holding ten orientation fairs for parents of pre-school children with disabilities entering kindergarten in the fall of 2005.

The fairs will provide information on the transition from pre-school to school age special education services, including the timeline for evaluation and recommendations for kindergarten programs.

Throughout the month of November, 40 orientation fairs will be held in ten different regions, throughout the five boroughs.

At each fair, senior special education administrators will be presenting information and answering questions. Parents will be given a guide that summarizes the transition and will be invited to sign up for tours of representative school-age programs. Each fair will host at least one fair during evening hours.

There will be a fair held in Lower Manhattan on Nov.8th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at P.S. 134, 293 East Broadway.
