Greg Henderson, right, came back after a fall one-third of the way through the race to win the 3rd annual BMC NYC Cycling Championship, held at Wall and Water Sts. on Aug. 1. Henderson, who will represent New Zealand at the 2004 Olympics, fell about 20 miles into the 50-lap, 62.5 mile race, but beat out a field of 15 to win with a time of 2:05:13. There were several other events that day, including the 2nd annual women’s championship, which was won by Mari Holden, above, who triumphed over 69 other professional cyclists in the 22.5-mile race with a time of 54:21 in the rain.
