The sanity trial for Daniel Rakowitz, the former East Village man who admitted to cleaning the bones of his ex-girlfriend after she was murdered and chopped up in 1989, has been delayed because several jurors fell ill last week.
According to Rakowitz’s defense lawyer, Steve Harkavy, one juror was taken to a hospital on Monday and remained ill on Tuesday, and two jurors were unable to attend trial last week.
Rakowitz had been tentatively scheduled to appear on the witness stand yesterday, but will likely not take the stand until next Tuesday, Harkavy said.
