Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome baby girl

Ring out the bells, it’s a baby girl!

Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, welcomed an 8 pound, 3 ounce baby girl at 8:34 a.m. on Saturday.

Her name has not yet been announced. Prince William drove Catherine to the hospital and was present at the birth.

Prince William and Catherine left the hospital with their new daughter early in the evening, beaming for the cameras. Their son, George, had left earlier out of a back door with a nanny.

Prince William greeted reporters on the way to pick up George. “We’re very, very happy,” William said, according to People magazine.

The new baby will be fourth in line for the throne, behind her grandfather, Prince Charles, her father Prince William, and her older brother, George, 21 months. Prince Harry will now be fifth in line for the throne.

Although this is the first baby girl born in Prince William’s immediate family, this is Queen Elizabeth’s fourth great-granddaughter, with Prince George being her sole great-grandson.

Buckingham Palace and the London Eye will light up in pink lights in honor of the new princess.
