Bernie Sanders had strong support among striking Verizon workers, as seen by his campaign stickers and buttons festooning this group rallying in Washington Square Park earlier this week. Earning the wrath of Verizon’s C.E.O., Sanders has cheered on the Verizon strikers and trumpeted his support for labor unions. Last Wednesday, 39,000 of the company’s landline and cable workers walked off the job. Sanders assured them that they would win. Hillary Clinton said she was “disappointed” negotiations had broken down.
