Sea of green rises against Iran violence
On July 9, Washington Square Park was filled with protesters wearing green shirts and ribbons and hoisting green banners at a rally for the human rights of students in Iran. Green is the color being donned all over Iran in the ongoing demonstrations against the June 12 presidential election result that declared incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner. At the Washington Square Park rally, a giant green banner was signed, which will be sewn together with green banners from around the world and dropped over the side of the Eiffel Tower.
