A fireboat near Battery Park City celebrates the arrival of the Queen Mary 2, which will be replacing the Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth 2 on April 22. On Sunday, April 25, both the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth 2 will depart from the dock at Pier 92 at 55th St., at 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. and will sail slowly down the Hudson River and slowly pass the Statue of Liberty at 8:30 p.m. with a fireworks display. Two of the best places to view the fireworks are Wagner and Battery Park. An early riser waited for the Queen Mary 2 at Wagner Park Thursday, below.
