Ron English’s new mural on the famed “graffiti wall” at E. Houston St. and the Bowery is titled “All-American Temper Tot.” The parody advertisement highlights Post Golden Crisps cereal’s exceedingly high sugar content. Indeed, in 2008, a Consumer Reports nutritional study of 27 cereals, found the puffed-wheat breakfast fare to be one of the two cereals with the highest sugar content — more than 50 percent by weight. No wonder kids are becoming “temper tots” — if not heading down the road to obesity and eventual diabetes — after gobbling all that glucose.
