City Council Speaker Christine Quinn celebrated her belated 40th birthday at the Caring Community’s Our Lady of Pompei center last week. Above, Arthur Makar, Caring Community’s executive director, left, and Lucy Cecere, a founder of the Village-based group, which provides day programs, classes, counseling and advocacy for seniors, right, flanked Quinn as she cut the cake. Chocolate with whipped cream, the cake featured a photo of City Hall, in honor of Quinn’s being elected speaker at the beginning of the year. Quinn was also given a plaque thanking her for her work on behalf of Caring Community’s seniors. Borough President Scott Stringer and Councilmember Alan Gerson also attended.
