The Bedford Downing Block Association holds its Sixth Annual Sidewalk Sale, Sat., Oct. 25, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (rain date Oct. 26), on Downing St. between Sixth Ave. and Bedford St. The vendors, all block association members, are known to feature a bumper crop of unique and/or top-quality clothing, household goods, CDs, videotapes, computers, tools, antiques, sporting goods, books and collectibles. One of them, Mike Quashie, profiled recently as the international Limbo King and good friend of Jimi Hendrix, will be selling his and Hendrix’s memorabilia from the ’60s and ’70s. There will be a raffle of goods, services and meals from local establishments and autographed copies of local authors’ recent books. The funds go to beautify the neighborhood, Churchill Park and Bedford Houston Triangle.
