AN ENCHANTED LOVE STORY “Cloud Tectonics,” by Out of Line Productions, takes place in a world where years can pass in a single night. On a stormy night in Los Angeles, a lonely man picks up Celestina, a pregnant hitchhiker, and welcomes her into his home. She claims she is 54-years-old and has been pregnant for two years. Clocks stop, visitors materialize and love ticks toward its inevitable climax. Continues thru Aug. 5. FRANKENSTEIN REIMAGINED “Frankenstein, The Musical” features a young scientist who works feverishly to create the Creature, but then abandons him because of his own fear and irresponsibility. 30TH ANNUAL STREET PERFORMANCE TOUR Theater for the New City’s “Tap Dance” is an opera for the street performed by 27 dancers. It is inspired by the Patriot Act that is taking away the freedom to protect American liberties. Performance features trap doors, giant puppets, smoke machines, masks and more. NEW YORK LONGING FOR NEW JERSEY “Food for Fish,” by Adam Szymkowicz, focuses on young Bobbie who drops another of life’s pages into the Hudson. He kisses random strangers on the street. He tells a story that’s increasingly real each time we look, once there was a world where men became women, and women became men. Three sisters mourned their father and faced the facts of life. ONE OF SHAKESPEARE’S GREATEST TRAGEDIES “King Lear” is based on the legend of King Leir, a king of pre-Roman Britain. This revival, by The Actors’ Shakespeare Project of Boston, offers a stripped-down, intimate look into the work focusing on the actor and the text to give audiences a sense of the play’s timeless relevance. CLASSIC AMERICAN FARCE John Murray and Allen Boretz’s "Room Service” is considered to be one of the funniest American plays of the 1930s. It centers on a theatrical producer trying to find support for his new show. He convinces the playwright to fake his own death and one of the country’s wealthiest businessmen turns up with money to invest, until he discovers the hotel doctor bound and gagged in the bathroom.
