ROOFTOP FILMS “CODEPENDENT LESBIAN SPACE ALIEN SEEKS SAME”
Lots of friends (and relationships, we hear) have flourished from connections made when folks of a diverse background find themselves up on the roof during a steamy summer — bonding over their shared love of film. Rooftop Films wants to help you make that human connection with this rainbow tribe-friendly flick. “Why shouldn’t straight people celebrate gay pride weekend? We all know what happens on St. Patrick’s Day! So it’s time to join the party!” they say…and we say, “Yes!”

“Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same,” aside from being an entertaining picture, is a great way for folks of all stripes to participate in the LGBT pride celebration. Hailed by the Hollywood Reporter as “A hilarious date movie for couples of all orientations,” the funky screening gets even more good time juice from being supplemented by live music, an after party and an appearance by some real live lesbian space aliens!

Fri., June 24, at Open Road Rooftop (350 Grand St. at Essex St.). Doors open at 8pm. Live music until the film begins at 9pm. Q&A with filmmaker Madeline Olnek and several lesbian space aliens at 10:30pm. After Party, 11:30pm (at Fontana’s, 105 Eldridge St. btw. Broome St. and Grand St.). For tickets ($10), purchase at the door or visit rooftopfilms.com.
