More FDR Drive closures ahead this week! Expect extra traffic on West St. overnight when the FDR Drive is fully closed for construction between 61st and 96th Sts. midnight to 5:30 a.m. the next morning on Friday through Sunday nights. The Disability Pride Parade will form in Union Square, and march north on Broadway to 26th St. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Expect the biggest traffic impacts on Union Square West between 14th and 17th Sts.
The Community Board 1 Summer Block Party will close Desbrosses St. between Hudson and Greenwich Sts. from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
Week-long road closures in Lower Manhattan include: Thames St. between Greenwich St. and Trinity Pl., Fletcher St. between Front and South Sts., and Avenue D between 12th and 13th Sts.
On West St. two northbound lanes will close between Christopher and 14th Sts. from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
The Coenties Slip Greenmarket will close Coenties Slip between Water and Pearl Sts. from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Hudson River tunnel slowdowns this week: In the Lincoln Tunnel, the New York-bound tube will close from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. The Lincoln Tunnel closure will send drivers Downtown to the Holland, which will be slow because of its own closure, where one New York-bound and one New Jersey-bound lane will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. If possible, head back to the city before 11 p.m. to avoid delays.
In the Battery Park Underpass, one tube will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday nights, and 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. Traffic will be maintained in both directions in the open tube. If the north tube is closed, use the detour and exit onto South St., continue on to Whitehall St., turn left onto State St. to Battery Pl., and then turn left onto Battery Pl. to West St. If the south tube is closed go south on West St., left onto Battery Pl., continuing onto State St., and going one block north on Water St., then right onto Broad St.
