On Sat, Jan. 24, at 2:18 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of Essex and Hester Sts., near Seward Park, when a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and violently wrested away her purse, containing her cell phone, debit and credit cards and an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then fled the location.
The victim refused medical attention on scene.
The suspect is described as a tall, dark-skinned male wearing a green snorkel jacket.
Police provided surveillance video of the mugging and the suspect walking away afterward.
