Police are searching for a woman who allegedly slashed a man in the neck on board a southbound 2 train in the Bronx on Sunday night.
According to law enforcement sources, officers from the 49th Precinct and Transit District 12 responded to a 911 call of an assault at the Bronx Park East station located near Birchall Avenue and White Plains Road in Van Nest at around 9 p.m. on Aug. 10. Police said the victim, a 33-year-old man, was involved in a “verbal dispute” with the woman before the argument became physical.
Wrapping up a war of words, the perp slashed the man in the neck using an unknown sharp object, leaving him bloodied and in need of assistance. The victim was able to leave the train as the suspect fled the scene.
EMS responded and brought the victim, bloodied from the laceration to his neck, to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition, according to authorities.
Police said the victim did not know his attacker. So far, no arrests have been made, but police are looking for a female with a medium complexion. According to ABC 7, the suspect is described as wearing a yellow shirt and red and yellow sneakers.
The investigation remains ongoing.
