Cops investigating antisemitic graffiti hate crime near Union Square

Police are searching for the man who drew antisemitic graffiti on a Union Square building on Thursday. 

According to the investigation, the suspect approached the door of the building near 131 5th Ave. and drew a Star of David, while writing the word “Jew” with an accompanying question mark. 

The suspect then fled the location on foot. 

No arrests have yet been made, and the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force continues to investigate. 

Police described the suspect as a male with a light skin complexion and a medium body build. He is approximately 50 to 60 years of age.

This year has seen a significant rise in anti-Jewish crimes — with a 331% rise in September, and 214% increase in October compared with the same months last year, according to the NYPD
