NYPD scuba divers and FDNY marine personnel rescued two men from the Hudson River on Tuesday morning and are still looking for a woman missing in the water.
The incident unfolded just before 10 a.m. on July 15 when the NYPD and FDNY responded to reports of three people missing off of Pier 26 in Tribeca.
According to NYPD officials and witnesses at the scene, the woman jumped into the Hudson River, and two men then dove into the waters in an effort to save her. The reason why she jumped in is not yet known.
The NYPD Harbor Unit and FDNY Marine Unit responded along with FDNY Rescue Company 1 and Emergency Services Unit as part of an all-out rescue attempt to bring all three people back to share alive.
Working together, the first responders were able to bring the two men out of the water, but they have yet to find the woman.
EMS rushed the rescued men to a local hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.
Police boats continued to search the waters of the Hudson River midday on Tuesday. An NYPD spokesperson described the woman as being in her 30s or 40s. The investigation remains ongoing.
