An 88-year-old woman died of her injuries after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in Queens on Sunday.

Authorities say that at 1:34 p.m. on Feb. 23, the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian struck at 48th Avenue and Bell Boulevard in Oakland Gardens. Upon their arrival, officers found Dolores Soho on the pavement with trauma to her head and body.

A preliminary investigation found that prior to the crash, a 60-year-old man was driving a 2006 Ford van westbound on 48th Avenue. As he turned left onto Bell Boulevard, he struck Soho, who was crossing the street.

EMS rushed Soho to North Shore Manhasset Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene following the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
