Police are on the hunt for the violent robber who brutally stabbed a senior man inside an Upper West Side deli early Saturday morning, leaving the victim critically wounded.
Authorities said the attack happened at about 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 18 inside the Westside Deli located at 700 Amsterdam Ave.
Video that the NYPD obtained from the scene shows the suspect walking into the location on the morning of the attack. According to police, he soon confronted a 71-year-old man at the location, pulled out a sharp object and went on the attack.
Law enforcement sources said the crook stabbed the victim three times in the chest. Upon wounding him, cops reported, the perpetrator removed an undetermined amount of money from the victim, then fled the scene.
Officers from the 24th Precinct responded to the incident. EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Police described the suspect as a man wearing a black t-shirt, maroon shorts and black sneakers.
