Happy Rosh Hashanah to all of NYCP’s readers!
Rosh Hashanah, meaning “Head of the Year”, marks the beginning of the Hebrew calendar. For the Jewish community, the fall season is a cleansing – a way to wash ourselves of the sins of the past year and begin with a clean slate. Rosh Hashanah rings in the new year, while Yom Kippur, which comes afterwards, has us atone for all of our past wrongdoings.
As a Jew, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize for any mistakes I’ve made this past year. Going forward, I pledge to be a fairer, more accurate and more comprehensive reporter.
Our newspaper will be taking a brief hiatus for the holiday. We will return to our regular schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
