Fordham is among the final 16 teams vying for the FCS crown after subduing Sacred Heart last Saturday, 37-27, at home.
Next up for the Rams is a matchup with tough Towson Saturday in Maryland.
Fordham (12-1) will need another big game out of quarterback Michael Nebrich (3,986 passing yards, 481 rushing yards, 40 total touchdowns). The Rams have not lost a game which Nebrich started this year — injury kept him out of the team’s loss to Lafayette last month.
While Fordham’s offense comes from their dual-threat quarterback, Towson (10-2) generates most of its scoring on the ground. Running back Terrance West has run for 1,865 yards and 30 touchdowns, and 40 of the Tigers’ 54 offensive touchdowns have come on running plays.
Containing West will go a long way toward the Rams continuing one of the finest seasons in the program’s long history.
