The New York Liberty continue to command the court, winning their sixth and seventh consecutive games over the weekend — and the duo to look out for is reigning Eastern Conference player of the week Sabrina Ionescu and veteran forward Jonques Jones.

Handing the Connecticut Sun their first loss of the season, Ionescu and Jones led the team with a combined 46 points. Both had five assists — Ionescu added three boards — but Jones truly dominated under the basket with eight rebounds, taking the game away with a score of 82-75.

Back at home against the Washington Mystics, Jones put up 29 points and another eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Ionescu came out with 19 points, six rebounds, and eight assists to keep the Mystics winless so far this season with a 93–88 win.

That triumph improved their record to 5-0 in Commissioner’s Cup play, being the only team in the league to go undefeated and clinching home-court advantage for the championship game at the end of this month on June 25.

The Liberty now sits at 11-2 this season making them second in the league behind the Sun. They head over to Las Vegas this Friday to face the reigning two-time champs for the first time this season.

With Ionescu and Jones averaging a combined 33 points per game this season, they will be put to the test by Aces stars A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum, who are averaging a combined 47 points per game.

The Aces have been struggling though, losing three of their last four games. They face off Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at the Michelob Ultra Arena.
