Julio Teheran’s New York Mets career lasted all of one start — the team opted to designate him for assignment on Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, they called up right-handed relief pitcher Dedniel Nunez from Triple-A Syracuse.

The 27-year-old has been in New York’s farm system since 2017 but he has never touched the majors, possessing a 4.46 ERA across all levels.

Teheran signed with the Mets last week after Tylor Megill went down with a low-grade shoulder strain. The 33-year-old veteran righty was on the open market after opting out of his contract with the Baltimore Orioles late in spring training after the AL East club told him he would not break camp with the major-league roster.

After a quick ramp-up, he started Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves — his former team — in which he allowed four runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts across 2.2 innings of work.
