QUEENS, N.Y. — The Mets have made the call early, postponing Opening Day from Thursday afternoon to Friday for a 1:40 p.m. ET against the Milwaukee Brewers due to the threat of inclement weather.
Gates will open at 11:40 a.m. with parking lots opening one hour before that. Fans holding tickets for Thursday’s game will be able to use them for Friday’s rescheduled opener. Season ticket holders can exchange their tickets for another 2024 regular season game as long as they do so before 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
Jose Quintana will toe the rubber for the Mets on Opening Day against Milwaukee’s Freddy Peralta. It will also be Carlos Mendoza’s debut as manager.
“This is something I’ve been dreaming and preparing for my whole life,” Mendoza said. “I know I’m ready and I’m looking forward to it… We’re ready to go.”
