It’s time for a change in New York as 22-year-old Jaxson Dart replaces 36-year-old Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback for the Giants after a winless start to the 2025 season. Giants head coach Brian Daboll will turn to a rookie signal caller looking who played the part of an NFL caliber quarterback in the preseason.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles couldn’t have scripted a better beginning. The Chargers have beaten each of its AFC West division mates (Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs) once already this season as the team stormed off to a 3-0 start. Now, L.A. travels across the country for an early afternoon matchup, but will the unbeaten Chargers looks past the winless Giants in Week 4?
Week 4: Los Angeles Chargers (3-0) @ New York Giants (0-3)
Kick Off: 1:00 p.m. ET (Sun., 09/28/25)
Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)
Chargers QB Herbert has completed 72-of-108 passes for 860 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception for Los Angeles. With a rushing attack averaging less than 100 yards per game (YPG) this season, L.A. will likely look to the air to move the ball against the Giants 5th-worst passing defense (252 YPG). Can New York’s defense stop Herbert’s attack long enough to give their rookie a chance to win his debut at MetLife Stadium?
While preseason stats don’t lead to success, New York Giants QB Dart showcased throwing acumen (32 completions on 47 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns) and running ability (52 yards on six carries and a touchdown) in his three exhibition games. The Chargers boast a top-10 defense overall in 2025, including 9th-ranked units against both the pass and the run games. Los Angeles is dealing with some injuries at the cornerback spot that could potentially be exploited by New York’s rookie quarterback if he can handle the speed of the NFL game in his first start.

Babos Bet: Jaxson Dart 200+ Passing Yards
While the Chargers are a top-10 passing defense in the NFL, they are allowing 182 YPG in 2025. Add in a pair of banged up corners (Elijah Molden and Donte Jackson) and there is reason to believe Dart could eclipse the 200 yard mark in his NFL debut. The Ole Miss QB threw for over 10,000 yards against SEC defense over the last three seasons which surely helped to prepare him for his first test against NFL competition in the regular season.
