Stephen Curry, point guard for the Golden State Warriors, won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award on Monday.
Curry received 100 of the 130 first-place votes for a total 1,198 points — easily beating Houston’s James Harden (936 points with 25 first-place votes). LeBron James finishied third with 552 points (five first-place votes). Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook was fourth (352 points) and New Orleans center Anthony Davis was fifth (203 points) .
Curry carried the top-seeded Warriors to 67 wins, a franchise record. He’s the first MVP for the Warriors since Wilt Chamberlain in 1960, when the franchise played in Philadelphia.
